Gaia's Maverick

Where Environmentalism and Capitalism Meet.

Modern agriculture is profitable and effiicient. However, it also degrades the soil, produces greenhouse gasses, and is the leading cause of desertification. This is a problem.

There are alternative farming methods. They are typically less profitable than current practices, and often take a long time to establish. This is an unattractive solution.

Gaia's Maverick aims to be the best of both. We are dedicated to researching, publishing, and implimenting alternative farming systems that actually work. Our techniques are jugded by three serperate criteria. They must be quick to impliment, good for the soil, and make a profit within the first year. When a techinque does not meet these standards, we will not recommend it. We take the internet's manure and turn it into compost.

We're farm consultants - making farmers rich is good for business.

Founder, CEO, & Creative Director
Jason Machin

Jason is obsessed with two things - those are regenerative farming practices and making a profit.

His obsession with regenerative farming came from his gap year spent in China teaching English. This company insisted on 5 hours in the office every day. Jason had nothing substantial to do, an internet connection, and the great firewall. There are many rabbit holes on the internet, but none were as weird and wonderful as alternative farming techniques. He read everything he could find, and still does.

Then one day due to a series of unfortunate events Jason found himself the owner/operator of a micro-agency in the medical sector during the covid lockdowns. Through a great deal of stress and thousands of hours of eductional videos Jason learnt the ins and outs of the business world. His micro-agency made over $100k in the first year whlist paying above award wages. He loves nothing more than seeing people paid well for a job well done. This business is still in operation.

Now with the horrors of Covid-19 behind him, Jason has become an Enviromental Science student at the University of South Australia.

His goal and our mission is to make the world a richer and greener place for all.
